DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN BENIN

- Plane trip
- Welcome at Cotonou international airport
- Hotel transfer
- Check-in Rooms
- Dinner and night at Royal Paradise Hotel

DAY 2 – EXPLORING THE PLACE / AROUND THE HOTEL

- Lunch at Royal Paradise Hotel
- Afternoon, relaxing (swimming-pool, aqua-bar, sport & game) or hiking with a guided tour around the hotel. (discovering plantation, going through streams and small villages)
- Dinner and night at Royal Paradise Hotel

DAY 3 – DEPARTURE TO THE NORTH

- Departure early morning to the north of the country
- Stop in Savé for lunch: small town at the bottom of bare hills.
- Trip to Parakou : third town of the country, in local language Parakou means « the town of everybody » and it’s seems to be true, since the Bariba kingdom of Parakou until the French came in 1894, this town as a reputation of respect
- Dinner and night at Parakou

DAY 4 – ARRIVAL IN PENDJARI GAME RESERVE

- Stop in Natitingou for lunch: In 1913 colonists settled in Natitingou to control the region and force people to an harassing work. Then a revolt started with Kaba who became a local heroe.
- Entrance into the Game reserve: The Pendjari National Park is one of the most important sanctuary for west African animals. Aside from the giraffe and the zebra, most of the african animals inhabit the reserve.
- Welcoming at Pendjari Lodge: The Pendjari Lodge is a hotel with very confortable and spacious tents and natural cooling system. This eco-lodge is owned by a French couple and is completely integrated inside the landscape in the heart of nature. The decking at the front of the restaurant is an ideal point of view of the savannah and the big pond right below attracts many animals that come to drink.
- Dinner and night at Pendjari Lodge (www.pendjari-lodge.com).

DAY 5 – PARK VISIT

- Parc visit: UNESCO lists The Pendjari National Park as biosphere reserve. It’s located in the far northwest of Benin. The area is 2755 square kilometers and has a wide variety of ecological environment that fosters animals and plants biodiversity expansion. The landscape is specific of West-Africa savannah. It is possible to observe a wide range of animals species: Antelopes and large mammals like elephants, lions or buffalos…
- Lunch, dinner and night inside the park at the Pendjari Lodge.

DAY 6 – TANOUGOU WATERFALL & SOMBA REGION

- Way out of the park headed to Tanougou waterfalls.
- Lunch below the falls: lost in the middle of the forest, Tanougou waterfalls flow from the Atakora, a mountain range that culminates at 800 meters hight but is spread over several kilometers. At the bottom, the water as a lightly green aspect likes trees around. At the foot of the waterfall, the water forms a large basin where there is possibility of swimming.
- Visit of Somba region: meeting with people living in Atakora region, visit of traditional Tata Somba habitat with local guide. The Somba region is a place where are living a wide range of tribes that all aspire to the same ideals of peace, happiness, justice, and well-being. To protect the habitats from wild animals or intruders, they developed an original architecture with different floors build like small fortresses and called Tata Somba. The characteristics of those original constructions are: Steadness and aesthetics, defensive posture, economic and spiritual function.
- Dinner and night at Boukoumbé.

DAY 7 – WAY-BACK INTO SOUTH

- Way-back into south, lunch in a typical restaurant on the road called « maquis ». The variety of landscape and the ongoing theatre and all kind of activities of the road will make you forget the journey.
- Night at Savalou

DAY 8 – ABOMEY, ROYAL PALACES

- Going to Abomey at the morning: this town is considered as the historical capital of Benin.
- Royal museum visit: This museum tells the story of Danxome kingdom before the French colonization. It describes how the region evolved from tribal kingdom to these days. UNESCO classified the palaces as a world heritage.
- Visit of the Royal city of Abomey: In particular the place “Goho” where is standing at the middle the statue of King BEHANZIN who fought against the French.
- Lunch at “l’auberge d’Abomey”: Colonial syle building and old French canteen, build in 1902.
- Visit of the underground village of Agongointo. Cultural landscape of 6 square kilometers, dating from the 18th sanctuary, this place is composed of undergrounds shelters and is organized as an urban town with water points, holy spaces and worship places. Recently discovered (10 years ago), this place is protected and open to visitors.
- Return to Allada, dinner and night at Royal Paradise Hotel.

DAY 9 – REST & RELAXATION AT THE HOTEL

- Lunch at Royal Paradise Hotel
- Afternoon resting and relaxing (swimming-pool, aqua-bar, sport & games)
- Possibility to visit the town of Allada, the market, the old train station, the statue of Toussaint Louverture the founder of Haiti republic.
- Dinner and night at Royal Paradise Hotel

DAY 10 – LAKE CITY OF GANVIE

- Morning departure for the landing stage of Calavi : boat ride on Nokoue lake to discover the fishing technics and visiting Ganvie, this town is classified at UNESCO world heritage and is the biggest lake city of west Africa. 35000 people live on the water from fishing and it’s derivatives.
- Lunch in restaurant on water.
- Boat-ride on the SO river to observe the fauna.
- Return to the hotel
- Dinner and night at the Royal Paradise hotel

DAY 11 – OUIDAH

- Morning departure for Ouidah : Formerly known as Juda, Ouidah shines from history colors, by religious syncretism and represent the voodoo cradle. This peaceful and quiet small town was in 18th sanctuary involved on the slave trade. It was the biggest slave-trading port of West Africa, it remains today the old Portuguese slave port.
- Visiting the town, the museum and the Temple Of Python. In Ouidah, we don’t say “a Python is dead” but “the night has come ” this saying mean the human death. Major place for Voodoo culture the Temple Of Python is a holy place.
- Visiting the Basilica of Immaculate Conception: achieve in 1909 facing the Temple Of Python, it is the first one build in Benin. It witnesses the tolerance between religions and beliefs, and it is the only gauges of reconciliation between spirit and wisdom.
- Lunch at “Musée du Soleil” restaurant: It is a small restaurant open in an old Brazilian colonial style house with many charm.
- Slave trade tour going to “the door of no return” important monument in memory of all men an women who lost their life in captivity.
- Dinner and night at Royal Paradise Hotel.

DAY 12 – NIAOULI PARK & FLIGHT BACK TO FRANCE

- Morning departure for Niaouli park : hiking to observe nature and discover the history of the park with a forest ranger. The Niaouli park is one of the oldest agricultural research center of West Africa. 223 species of plants and 14 recently found are here protected.
- Visit of the agricultural center: All coffee varieties, cocoa, corn and tobacco cultivated in western Africa up to Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal are coming from the agricultural center of Niaouli. today there are still many of scientists in the park to study animals species and plants species.
- Lunch at the hotel
- Afternoon: resting and relaxing (swimming-pool, aqua-bar, sport & games)
- Airport transfer & return flight

DAY 13 – RETURN IN FRANCE

- Arrival in Paris
